Festivals, Events & Things to Do in Norfolk from April – July
In almost any month of the year there are wonderful festivals and events going on somewhere in Norfolk – and there will be something of interest to everyone. Whether it is outside enjoying the country air, having fun with a festival by the sea or enjoying a indoor spectacular – you will have a great time.
Here are a select few we have chosen for you from Spring to Summer
April 1 – 17
NATIONAL TRUST EASTER EGG HUNT – SHERINGHAM PARK & BLICKLING HALL
Get the whole family out in the fresh air and hunt for the clues the Easter Bunny has left as to where to find the hidden chocolate eggs. Lots of fun to be had searching around the colourful pinks & purples of the rhododendrons on your way in the parks.
April 30 – May 21
BROADS OUTDOORS FESTIVAL
Nearly 200 events throughout the Norfolk Broads area ranging from tours of mills, special night openings of museums, guided walks, wherry trips, watercolour and wildlife photography lessons, craft workshops and taster sessions for paddle boarding and lots of other activities such as canoeing and geocaching
May 12 – 28
NORFOLK & NORWICH FESTIVAL
From starting as Britain’s first art festival in 1772, each May the city and country are transformed with performances from local & international performers. Be entertained by performers, music of every kind, circus, dance, art, literature and more.
May 20 – 21
CROMER & SHERINGHAM CRAB & LOBSTER FESTIVAL
A lively weekend celebration of the sea faring heritage of the coastal towns of Cromer & Sheringham. With an emphasis on using freshly caught seafood – the events include crab dressing, cookery theatres and demonstrations by local chefs, music, a giant fish tank, heritage demonstrations , folk songs, sea shanties and a crazy crab race from the pier.
May 27 – June 11
NORFOLK & NORWICH OPEN STUDIOS
For 16 days the county’s artists open their studio doors with free entry to give visitors the chance to meet artists, see their work and buy original work. From pottery, glass, art, sculpture, wood and ceramics to book binding and even moustache making, this is an event not to be missed.
LET’S ROCK FESTIVAL
Held in Earlham Park in Norwich this retro festival celebrating the 80’s has a fantastic line-up of artists that you will remember including Tony Hadley, Bananarama, Howard Jones, Kim Wilde, Belinda Carlisle, Midge Ure, Go West, Nik Kershaw, Boney M and more for a music extravaganza.
June 28 – 29
ROYAL NORFOLK SHOW
The UK’s largest 2 day county show provides a great opportunity to enjoy the best of Norfolk with thousands of animals to see, hundreds of shopping stands and an event packed day. One of the biggest events of the year you can sample delicious local food and drink from over 70 stalls, watch the action in the arena, dog agility shows, food demonstrations from the county’s top chefs and so much more. A very enjoyable day’s entertainment
July 7 – 9
LORD MAYOR’S CELEBRATION
This is a carnival experience for Norwich with a weekend packed full of events including a street theatre, entertainers, outdoor stages with music, dance and theatre and a fun fair culminating in the fantastic street procession and fireworks.
